Week Eight Composite: The Color of Water Lilies

“Water Lilies is an extension of my life. Without the water the lilies cannot live, as I am without art.”
― Claude Monet

My eighth composite for my fifty-two-week project started out as something else entirely.  I knew that I wanted to do something with   water.

Many of the first images I was working with contained rain.  There was an image of raindrops on a grill cover, trees in rain, children looking longingly out of the window on a rainy day, a rainy day sky, and a friend holding an umbrella.

I tried many different combinations using these images.  Nothing seemed to come together.

Since I love color, my eyes kept being drawn to the colorful umbrella.  While the colorful umbrella was still loaded into Photoshop, I began perusing my files.  I stumbled upon an image of a frog looking into a scene.  I took this image while visiting my brother and his wife this past summer.  I thought, perhaps, I could tie the two images together in some way.

As I studied the images carefully, I remembered a scene I photographed during the fall of vivid colors in a garden containing water lilies.  The colorful reflections of fall leaves on the water were amazing!

Once I began playing with these images, I was able to create something that made me happy.

I hope it will make you happy, too!
