Old Car City

Last weekend, my friend, Lorraine, and I spent a day at Old Car City.  Old Car City, located in White, Georgia, is  a wonderful junkyard containing more than 4,000 cars of various ages.

My first stop at Old Car City was at a spot where I could
use broken glass of one car to frame another in the background.

I was so fascinated by the detail shots as I made my way through Old Car City.  I loved the colors of this car.

I wanted to capture the signs of fall that were present throughout Old Car City.  I found the perfect thing when I saw this leaf affixed to one of the cars.

The presence of nature taking over was apparent wherever you looked at Old Car City.  Here was a wonderful example.  The colors and textures were fabulous everywhere you looked!

Since I have worked for the public schools of the Carolinas for the past thirty years, I was drawn to the school buses.  Here is a detail shot from one of the school buses that could be found at Old Car City.

I thought this warning to “Watch Your Step” was even more important  now than when first painted on this entrance to the bus.

As an afterthought, I photographed what so many photograph as the enter Old Car City.  This is one of the many hood ornaments from long ago that can be found at Old Car City.

If you love old cars or photography, make sure the next time you are near White, Georgia that you visit Old Car City!
