“The world was not wheeling anymore. It was just very clear and bright and inclined to blur at the edges.”
― Ernest Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises
I am constantly reading and taking classes in order to improve my photography. Everything I read, every class I take, every conversation I have with a fellow photographer, and every image I view
helps me on my journey in photography.
I get so excited when I find a class or resource pushing me to try new things.
I am currently involved in two online learning experiences which are influencing my work tremendously and helping me try new things. The first one is my involvement in The Arcanum. I have been involved in The Arcanum for almost two years now. I have learned more in those two years than I ever imagined possible. I am excited to be starting another learning path within the Arcanum with Robin Griggs Wood. Although I have just recently started on this learning path within The Arcanum, I already see its influence on my work and my experimentation.
The second learning opportunity I am involved with online is another G+ Mentorship which is offered through G+Mentorship Program for Photographers. The Mentorship I am currently beginning is called Beyond the Blur. It is taught by Alex Lapidus and Heiko Mahr. I am so excited to have an opportunity to increase my art education through this wonderful program.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to photograph on the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding areas with friends and fellow photographers. While I did enjoy taking “regular”‘ images, such as the image below taken just after sunrise, I also enjoyed taking some blurred images and looking for abstracts as you will see in the images that follow.
I hope you have a wonderful time exploring using your creativity this fall!
