Sand Stories

“To see a World in a grain of sand,

And a Heaven in a wild flower,

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,

And Eternity in an hour.”

― William Blake

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to spend time at the beach with wonderful friends.  While at the beach,

there were two mornings that I was able to explore during sunrise with my camera. I made my way to the beach about half an hour before the sun rose, experienced and photographed the sunrise, and looked for other things that captured my attention.

On my second morning, after witnessing the sunrise, I was intrigued by the early morning light as it illuminated the undulations in the sand.

For the remainder of that morning outing, I focused on the sand and the stories told by the patterns bathed in the early morning light.

I thoroughly enjoyed beginning my day thinking of these recent sand stories, knowing that each morning, a new story was written for passersby to notice (or not).  I am grateful that having a camera in my hand allows me to notice the beauty that I am surrounded by daily.
