“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.”
―
During my morning walks in the past two days, I have been able to feel the shift as summer looks towards fall. It is in the air.
Summer for more than a decade has led me to
the sunflower fields.
My mother took me to my first field in 2007. After that day, Mom created art inspired by visiting the sunflower fields.
The gift my mother gave me on that first visit to the sunflower fields is a gift that I will continue to enjoy for my lifetime.
Each summer, I spend a week among the rows of happy flowers. Each time I try to capture an aspect new to me.
This year my time in the fields was a time for healing. Here are some images I created this summer while enjoying the healing power and positive energy I was surrounded by in the sunflower fields.
I will look forward to the changing of the seasons until next summer leads me back to the fields where I can greet the sunflowers as I greet friends who I haven’t seen in a long time.

Thanks for sharing this. Another issue of photographic poetry.
Thank you, so much, Everett! Greatly appreciated!
I enjoy your sunflower posts each year as you manage to find new ways of photographing beyond the typical sunflower scenes. I am always delighted and surprised with your vision.
Pam, thank you, so much for your kind words! I truly love the time I spend in the fields exploring each year!
