Caged: Turkey Time

During Monday’s trip to the zoo, I took a path I haven’t traveled before into the barn.  I enjoyed looking at several of the farm animals until I stopped at the cage for the  turkey.  I have always been so drawn to feathers, so I thought I would see what I could photograph while there.

There were many challenges to photography in the barn.  The turkey was in an enclosure, so I had to photograph through the bars on the side of the enclosure.  Since there were only certain places where he could be in order for me to photograph him, I had to wait patiently until he went to the perfect spot.

I found the colors and details to be incredible and ended up staying there to photograph for almost two hours.
