“That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do, not that the nature of the thing has changed, but our power to do so is increased.”

My commitment to create one image per week for a year for the 52Frames project continues.
The challenge for image fourteen was curves. I spent that week seeking out many compositions containing curves. I ended up photographing my old Barbies, stored in the attic, for the word.
Week fifteen’s challenge was to photograph something from a different angle. I have spent a great deal of time photographing signs of spring in my neighborhood during this time of staying at home. One morning I noticed the petals that had fallen from the tree. It was a different perspective of the beauty of spring.
This past week’s challenge was to photograph something using a fast shutter speed. It is rare that I use a fast shutter speed for the types of photography that I typically seek out. I looked at many examples of fast shutter speed photography online. I just didn’t seem to find anything that resonated with me.
In the last day of the challenge, I used fast shutter speed to make the images needed to create a composite that shows some of what is going on in the world today.
A fast shutter speed was required to create the base for this image from the backseat of the vehicle while Randy was driving. I also had to use a fast shutter speed to capture the signage from the moving vehicle.
Completing these weekly challenges is definitely allowing me to photograph things I might not ordinarily photograph. I am learning each week. It is also helping me keep focused on photography when our current situation makes that more difficult.
If you would like to see images from thousands of talented photographers for each of these challenges, I hope you will look at the albums on the 52Frames website.
As always, I am very thankful for everyone who makes these weekly challenges possible!
