Observing Spring

“A world of grief and pain
Flowers bloom
Even then”
― Kobayashi Issa

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year to photograph.  There is so much color and beauty to be found during the spring.  In a typical spring, I will spend much of my time driving to gardens and other locations in my state as well as in neighboring states.  This year has certainly been different in that respect.

Although I have not traveled to photograph the magnificence of spring, I have still photographed signs of spring daily closer to my home.  I begin each day with an hour walk.  My camera and my dog, Maui, are my companions on these expeditions.

We have found the beauty of spring bursting at every turn.

There are so many stressors and uncertainties in the world today.  However, spring continues to bring forth the promise of new life and vitality.  Taking the time to observe the changes of spring each day closer to home has, in many ways, been a gift.

Take a walk and observe the beauty that spring brings to your neighborhood.
