It’s All a Blur

“The world was not wheeling anymore. It was just very clear and bright and inclined to blur at the edges.”
― Ernest Hemingway

Many things are unrecognizable today.  My job as a first grade teacher has completely changed in location and delivery.  I have spent more time at home in the past month than I have in years!  As I work to make sense of this new normal, there are things that remain the same.

Photography as a way to interpret the world around me remains the same.  Spring has arrived and continues to display its grand beauty whether or not people are in a mental  place to truly enjoy it.

After attending the annual meeting of Carolinas’ Nature Photographers Association at the beginning of March (although that seems like a lifetime ago in many ways), my approach to photographing spring changed in some ways.  I took more images using artistic blur after attending Tony Sweet’s presentation, Creative In-Camera Effects.

Although the spring of 2020 may go by in a blur, make sure you take time to appreciate the beauty that surrounds you!

I am a travel and fine art photographer living and working in the Carolinas. My camera has taken me to places I never would have experienced and to people I never would have met. Photography has truly changed my life! Using my blog, I hope to share the joys of both travel and photography.
