Nothing Gold Can Stay

Our journey began in 2012.   I saw a picture of a dog who needed a home at our local humane society.  She had ginger fur.  I named her Gingersnap before even seeing her.

My husband, Randy, went to the humane society and let me know that Gingersnap was already spoken for.  Would this one do?

Absolutely!  She came home to live with us.  We named her Maui.

Training Maui was not always fun, but it was worth every effort as she grew into an incredible family member.

For years, Maui accompanied us on so many amazing adventures.

Maui allowed me to dress her up in all kinds of silly costumes to help me with my photography.

During Covid, I enjoyed sharing one to two-hour long walks daily.

As time went on, our adventures were much closer to home.

Thank you for teaching us:

-how to love unconditionally

-how to be a true friend

-how to do a dance of excitement before each meal, even if it was the same meal eaten each day

-how to show those you love how much you love them

-how to protect those you love fiercely

-how to live life in the moment, as the moments are what matters

-how to find joy in the simple things in life

-how to give so much more than you ever received

You were SO loved!  Until we meet again, our dear Maui!
