Merry Christmas

“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

-Clement Clarke Moore

A tradition that I enjoy each year at Christmastime is a visit to McAdenville, North Carolina.  McAdenville is also known as Christmas Town USA.  People drive from miles away and wait in very long lines of traffic to view the holiday lights displayed

throughout the town.

This week I kept getting Facebook memory images from recent years at McAdenville.  Each time I visit a place, I try to come away with images different from those I have created in the past.

I always try to get to McAdenville before the sun sets so I can take advantage of the lovely blue twilight light.

The day we visited McAdenville there was a full moon.  I worked to incorporate the moon into one of my images.

Holiday Lights

We went back to McAdenville the following evening as I was hopeful to incorporate the moon into other images.  Unfortunately, the following evening was cloudy, so the moon could not be seen.

One of the spots I often photograph is the small lake that is surrounded by lit trees.  Rather than taking the same pictures I have taken before, I took a closer look at the lake.

Visitors to McAdenville can enjoy the sights either in their cars or by walking through the town.  We always park and walk so we can really spend time enjoying this festive town.

Merry Christmas

I thoroughly enjoyed this year’s visits to McAdenville.  The lights will be lit until December 26, so there is still time to visit.

I will just have to look forward to next year’s visit and a chance again try to create something new when visiting McAdenville.

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and healthy New Year!
