“Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.”
― Mother Teresa
As I have written, I participate in an ongoing photography scavenger hunt. Participating photographers are given a list of words and work to create an image for each word. In a recent hunt, one of the words was smile.
When I saw the word smile, it got me to thinking about how fortunate I am to get to see so many beautiful smiles each day while at work. The smiles that I see are forever changing throughout the school year. I teach six and seven-year-old children. Six and seven-year-olds are losing their teeth on a regular basis. One of our instructional activities each day is to update a calendar book. We have a half page in our books specifically for celebrating those who have lost a tooth on a day in that month.
I decided to make a composite to celebrate these beautiful smiles so that I could remember how important these smiles and milestones were on a daily basis throughout my career.
Using my macro lens, I took one picture of each of my students. I combined these images to make my composite titled Smile.
I hope you will share your smile today.
