“Dear Valentine, I love you. Whoever you are.”
― Charles M. Schulz
I have been a fan of Valentine’s Day ever since I can remember. I have fabulous memories of decorating shoeboxes and opening those little envelopes throughout my elementary school days.
Since I have been teaching elementary school ever since graduating from college with my Bachelor’s Degree, I have had the opportunity to spend the last thirty-one years sharing the joy of exchanging those little cards. Some things have changed. The shoeboxes, in my classroom, are now hearts that the students have sewn together and decorated. The cards, these days, now often contain candy, pencils, or other things affixed.
But the excitement never changes. I will never tire of Valentine’s Day.
I wanted to share this Valentine with you!

Mary…Such a beautiful picture of you and Pat Conroy and great picture of his books. And your rose is beautiful too!
Thanks, so much, Pam! I am so thankful that I got to meet Pat Conroy a couple of times! I found his work inspiring and loved hearing him speak about his work!
